Wow this is like Doublemint Gum you are getting two days in one.
Yesterday was a sea day and a very busy one. Regis gave his talk about how he got into the business and taking over 20 years to be a hit. It was a great talk and we were in the front row so we were the 2nd one's to have our picture taken with him by the ships photographer. He was telling a story and kept looking at Bill during it saying "you know what I mean don't you sir" I was hysterical so he thanked me for laughing He is very sweet in person. We spoke to him the other night at the welcome party.
Last night was a formal night and Becky graciously invited Bill and I to dine with her and the members of the shore excursion staff. Unfortunately three of them had to work but Debbie's mom is on this segment and she was able to come with Darko so we were six and had a fabulous evening followed by Karaoke and a late night to bed!
We had an early morning tour of Dalian today and we went to a school it was the best tour we have had all through this trip! We were met by the older children and each one took one of us and tied their school bandana around our necks and then helped us to the football field bleechers. The whole school welcomed us and sang a song and then did their morning exercises. After this we were taken into the kindergarten class rooms to watch and then into the gym where they entertained us gave us bottled water and oranges. All too soon is was time to leave these adorable children who just wanted to speak their English and give us all high 5s. Jason, Bill's student wanted to show him his classroom but he didn't have time.
After this we went o a farmer's market I stayed on the bus the knee was killling me it was soooooooo cold.
We then had a trip to private homes. We had 3 buses and each bus was broken down into 10 people and we went into private homes. We were given tea and cookies and fruit. Each person owns their own home and they are approximately 50 sq meters each. 1 bedroom kitchen, sitting room they have small refrigerators, 2 burner stoves and a microwave. Private bath also. It was lovely
We then went to the People's square and then back to the ship. All in all we have had two great days.
We are headed to Beijing and will be off the ship and in a hotel for 2 nights three days so I am not sure if I will be able to blog so if yoiu don't hear from me we are okay just climbing the Great Wall of China.
Wow what an experience!!!!
