Seward Alaska

Today we are in Seward, Alaska and it was a balmy 44 degrees when we were in town.  We were way too warm with all the clothes but the SeaLife Center had a coat rack so that was good.  We took the shuttle into town and we were dropped off at the Sea Life Center.  It was a great display one of the best we have seen I think although not as large as Baltimore's aquarium it was really nice.  After our few hours walking around the Sea Life Center we headed up the hill into town.  All kinds of restaurants and shops.  We saw a lot of the crew out and about having lunch and shopping.
This was a really nice town and we were in a shop that has been owned by the same family since 1908.  Everyone here was just as friendly as they have been in Dutch Harbor and Kodiak.

Cars stopped and let us cross the street, people welcomed us into their shops and they took great pride in pointing out sights we should see.  As I was taking a picture of two of my favorite things, I see some man out of the corner of my eye taking my picture.  Who was it but Chetan our waiter!!!!!!  He was in town enjoying the sights.  He did tell me not to shop here it is cheaper in Ketchikan!!!!

We spent quite a few hours walking around and I was starting to get tired so we headed back to the ship.  As we were gone for so long lunch was over so we headed to the Trident Grill for the best cheese burgers anywhere!  After that  I headed to the Bistro to see if Pat or Becky were around and there was Pat.  She has been in her cabin for quite a few days now really sick but she was feeling better not well enough to go walking all around though,
Some of the tours today were cancelled as they just had another 13 inches of snow the other day and some of the roads are impassable.  The man we spoke to in the Sea Life Center said they had more snow this year then ever before and the mountain got over 100 inches of snow.  Can't even fathom how much that would be.  Never have seen that much and thank you very much I don't want to.
Bill decided to head back into town around 3pm after our cheeseburger and he walked all the way around the town.  He found the coffee shop that had been a church that the lecturer told him about and he found a cigar shop so he was happy.  He then walked back to the ship.

We have truly enjoyed our 3 different stops in Alaska but I must say Seward has been my favorite.  Of course the sun was shinning and like I said it said 44 degrees on the bank in town.  Big difference from the last two ports,
We will be at sea tomorrow and we have a world cruise event.  Back of the house tour and waffles!
Friday we will be cruising Glacier Bay and I am sure that the scenery will be awesome.  So far Alaska other than being cold has been so beautiful with the snow covered mountains.
Saturday we will be in final Alaska port of Ketchikan.  This has truly been a remarkable cruise.
