Different Glacier than Facebook Picture

Today we sailed Glacier Bay

This was truly awesome.  We have seen the glaciers in Prince Christian Sound in Greenland, Antarctica and now Alaska and they are all different.  The sun was shinning brightly and the ranger said that since we were the first ship to go through and that they have not been here since last year they were not sure what to expect but were delighted with the weather.  The ranger was like a little kid in a toy store, he kept getting excited as he pointed out mountain goat on the side of the mountain.  As we sailed along the sun was so strong that the reflection off the water was spectacular!

The ranger got on to tell us there was a moose.  I am still downloading photos and hope to have that one tomorrow but the internet is suppose to go out tonight so I am trying hard to get this up before that.
There was the Moose just lying down and he got up and I swear he looked over at this ship of fools all taking pictures of him and shook his head.

As we headed deeper into Glacier Bay we saw a whole bunch (not sure what the term is) of Seals.  They were sunning themselves on a rock.  It was truly awesome.

Crystal had coffee, tea and juice  and danish set up in Palm Court this morning for all of us who where there to see.  Later they put out two types of soup and all kinds of sandwiches, salads, fruit and cookies.

It was truly a remarkable day one that we will remember for ever and when ever I am HOT in Phoenix I will look at these pictures.
Our friends, Betty and Kris took some pictures of us.  One I put up on FB and he told us to look warm.

On to Ketchakan and hopefully I will be able to put up more pictures tomorrow of the moose and seals!
Enjoy

  2. Thanks SOOOO much for the heads-up yesterday that you would be in Glacier Bay!! Because of it I was able to enjoy the live views from the webcam.

Your blog has been great--your sense of humor is just wonderful!! I really appreciate all the time you've put into it. I'll really miss it once the cruise is over.
